Kimiyasu Kudo set the CL record for oldest player to pitch in a game at the age of forty-six years and five months in 2009.  Masahiro Yamamoto broke Kudo's record today by starting a game against the Hiroshima Carp at the age of forty-six years and seven months.

The NPB record of forty-eight years and ten months belongs to Shinji Hamazaki (set in 1950).

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars took Hitoshi Fujie off the active roster today after he was diagnosed with the flu (type B).  Fujie, and the relievers that came into contact with him, were all given some Tamiflu.
