Chunichi Dragons

Maximo Nelson (right shoulder) could pitch in a game some time later this month.  Nelson tossed forty-eight pitches in the bullpen on Tuesday and told reporters, "Things are going well.  I think I will be ok to pitch in games soon."

Both Nelson and Enyelbert Soto (has already pitched in one Ni-gun game) could return to the active roster some time in May, before the start of Inter-league play.

Akifumi Takahashi (left shoulder) is slated to pitch during a Ni-gun series against Softbank that begins on April 6.

Yakult Swallows

The dugout benches at Jingu Stadium are now covered with Magniflex cushions.

The Swallows announced today that they signed a sponsorship deal with Money Square Japan and that they will be hosting Money Square FX Day on May 4.

Hiroshima Carp

Yoshiyuki Ishihara was taken off the active roster today with pain in his left wrist.  Ishihara originally tweaked the wrist while playing defense during an exhibition game on March 25 against the Softbank Hawks.  An MRI taken today revealed an injury in his TFCC.  Ishihara will begin a rehab program for the wrist on Friday (April 6).

The Carp won their home opener on Tuesday -- a first in ten years.

Takahiro Iwamoto was sent down to Ni-gun today in order to get in more work at Ni-gun.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kiyoshi Nakahata on what he values more, defense or offense: "Defense is important.  Defense is the best offense."

Talk show host Monta Mino feels the Bay Stars' can finish in third this season (his predictions for the top three teams in the CL are: Yomiuri, Hiroshima, Yokohama).
