The Fighters announced today that they will be hosting Spring Festa at Sapporo Dome between May 1 and 6.  Popular children's characters will also be making appearances between May 3 and 6: Kamen Rider Fourze on May 3, Suite Precure on May 4, Tamagotchi on May 5, and Tokumei Sentai Go Busters on May 6.

Hisanobu Watanabe is thinking about converting Esteban German to a center fielder.

Battery coach Hidekazu Mitsuyama was issued a stern warning and a 200,000 yen fine for his ejection on Wednesday.

Mitsuyama was ejected for arguing an close play at home plate during a game against Lotte on Wednesday.

It should also be noted that under rule 9.02b of the official rule book, only managers are allowed to argue calls made by the umpire.

Orix Buffaloes

Chihiro Kaneko threw sixty pitches in the bullpen on Wednesday and told reporters he still was not at 100%.

Kei Igawa tossed seventy pitches in the bullpen on Wednesday -- it was his second session in as many days.  Depending on how things go, he could toss batting practice as early as April 10.

Rakuten Eagles

Between tonight's game and Wednesday night's game, the Eagles allowed eleven stolen bases to the Softbank Hawks (seven on Wednesday and four tonight).

Hayden Penn started a Ni-gun game against the Futures today and tossed three shutout innings.  He faced a total nine batters, allowed one hit, struck out four, and threw thirty-six pitches.  Shunsuke Watanabe also pitched in the game: he relieved Penn and tossed five shutout innings while facing sixteen batters.  He also allowed one hit and struck out three.
