Yomiuri Giants

The Giants have not homered in their first six games of the season.  In 1946, the team began the season without a homer in ten games, but since the start of the two league format, the longest the team had gone without a homer to start a season was four games, back in 1958.

Shun Tono threw 106 pitches in the bullpen, including twelve forkballs.

Hanshin Tigers

Takashi Toritani struck out four times on Wednesday for the second time in his career.  The first time: June 27, 2006 vs Hiroshima, in extra innings.  The game on Wednesday was a regular nine inning game.

Hayata Ito started in center and batted second in a Ni-gun game against Chunichi on Wednesday and went 0-for-3 with a walk.

The Museum of Hanshin Koshien Stadium will be running a special exhibit, entitled 1992 Hanshin Tigers & Heisei Walk-off Victories (1992年の虎戦士たち・平成のサヨナラゲーム特集), between April 6 and July 22.
