Chunichi Dragons

Morimichi Takagi is thinking about dropping Takeshi Yamasaki in the line-up and bringing Tony Blanco into games as a defensive replacement in the 5th inning.

Kazuki Yoshimi won his start on Friday and has not lost a game since August 5, 2011 -- that is fifteen victories over thirteen regular season games and four postseason games.

The Dragons became the first team since the start of the two-league format to record four shutouts during the first six games of the season.  Prior to the start of the two-league format: Nagoya recorded four shutouts in the first five games in 1943.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows have not managed to score a run against Kazuki Yoshimi (CHU) in their last twenty-four innings against him.

Yomiuri Giants

The Giants suffered their fourth shutout in their seventh game of the season on Friday.  That is a franchise first since 1948.  Five other teams have also experienced similar starts: the 1938 (Fall) Eagles, the 1956 Nankai Hawks, the 1961 Hankyu Braves, and the 1967 Tokyo Orions.  The Giants are the only CL team and the only team to experience similar starts twice in their history.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars set a new Central League record with just five hits over a three game stretch.  The previous record of six hits over a three game period was held by Kintetsu (August 9 to August 12, 1956) and Chunichi (May 29 to June 1, 1971).
