Notes

Hiroshima: Bullington topped out at 149km/h.  Fifty-seven of the eighty-seven pitches he threw were fastballs. ... The Carp recorded their fifth straight victory and their third straight shutout.  The three consecutive shutouts ties a franchise high that was last set in 1981 (accomplished for the fourth time).

Yokohama: The Bay Stars have not scored a run in thirty-eight straight innings. They have now been shutout four games in a row.

Steve: What happened to your usual confidence. Have the Mobages worn you down already? It’s only April.

Yes, i am a bit frustrated, but i have some of my confidence left. They can’t play this bad the whole season.

    1. Steve Novosel

Ooh, yeah they can. They’ve been doing just that for the past 10 years. Of course it’s usually been more of a problem for their pitching than their offense.

I have been in this country on and off since 2007, but been going to Yokohama games for a few years. When the weather warms up, these guys will be on FIRE, just watch.

I am sorry you did not have the opportunity to experience the 1998 season. If you had, at least you’d have some beautiful memories to soothe the pain inflicted by more recent seasons. That 1998 team was my favorite baseball team of all time anywhere.
