Kyosuke Takagi was taken off the active roster on Tuesday with left shoulder pain.  He began rehabbing his shoulder at Giants Stadium today.  The Giants have shut him down (no throwing) with no ETA on when he will be allowed to throw again.

Ryota Wakiya (coming back from reconstructive surgery on right elbow) managed to throw the ball at a max distance of fifteen meters today.

Said Wakiya, "I went from five meters to ten meters.  And for the first time, I threw at fifteen meters.  Fifteen meters is actually a pretty far distance.  Things are going well right now.  I do not want to rush myself so I will take my time with things.

Shuichi Murata hit the team's first homer this season on Wednesday night.  According to Sponichi: the first homer of the season came in the team's 390th plate appearance; and Murata became the sixth player to hit the team's first homer of the season in his first year after joining the team.

And according to Nikkan Sports, the other five players were Noboru Aota in 1948; Saburo Hirai in 1951; Masaichi Kaneda in 1965; Kusuo Tanaka in 1966; and Alex Ramirez in 2008.  This was also the longest Murata took to hit his first homer.  The previous high of six games was set in both 2005 and 2009.
