Pawtucket 10 - Rochester 1 (AAA)
Tsuyoshi Nishioka (ROC) started at short and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: ground out to second, single to center (stole second), walk, ground out to third, strikeout swinging. [Sponichi]

A new Ichiro Suzuki (SEA) Bifidus Yogurt BB536 commercial will hit the airwaves in Japan on April 16.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (BOS) started a minor league practice game on Thursday and tossed three shutout innings.  Matsuzaka faced a total eleven batters, threw forty-one pitches, gave up one hit, walked one, and struck out two.

Sponichi notes that Norichika Aoki (MIL) has seen a total forty-four pitches in his seven trips to the plate.

Nikkan Sports mentions that Yu Darvish (TEX) may not have been particularly happy about pitching coach Mike Maddux and bullpen coach Andy Hawkins telling him what might be wrong with his mechanics during his bullpen session on Wednesday.  It seems the two coaches were trying to get Darvish to pitch out the wind.  Requests from the Japanese media to speak to the two coaches were turned down.  It should also be noted that most of the other reports published on the session do not mention anything particularly negative about it.

According to Sponichi, FOX will broadcast Darvish's next start on April 14.

Darvish effect?  The Texas Rangers announced on Thursday that they sold "2,046,072 season, group, and individual tickets for 2012 home games."  The Rangers did not sell two million tickets last season until May 19.
