Yoshikazu Kura was taken off the active roster today with pain in his right flank. Kura started complaining of the pain after Saturday's game against the Yakult Swallows and was diagnosed with an injury to his right abdominal oblique.
While it is possible Kura will miss a significant amount of time, the team will not set a firm timetable until they have had a chance to evaluate him again after three or four days.
The Carp also do not have a timetable on Yoshiyuki Ishihara -- he was taken off the active roster on April 4 with pain in his left wrist. Ishihara and Kura are the two most experienced catchers on the seventy-man roster.
