Nippon Ham Fighters

Bobby Keppel played some catch during pre-game practice on Monday and later told reporters he felt no pain.  It was his first game of catch since he hurt his right shoulder.

Sho Nakata has two hits in thirty-eight plate appearances at Sapporo Dome.  Both hits also happen to be home runs.

Orix Buffaloes

Kei Igawa is slated to start a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima on April 18.  He is expected to toss about three innings.  The earliest Igawa sees himself making it to the active roster is some time in May.

Rakuten Eagles

The Eagles decided not to sign Yoshihiro Doi (35) and will instead look to their youth.  Doi wants to continue playing and will continue his search for other options, both domestically and internationally.

Senichi Hoshino on how to care for baseball equipment, via Nikkan Sports: "Polish your equipment everyday!  That is why you can not hit.  You wash your head and face every day.  It is the same as that.  Players like [Hiromitsu] Ochiai took great care of their bats."

Chiba Lotte Marines

Takahiro Fujioka's next regular season start will likely come against the Seibu Lions on April 22.
