Softbank Hawks

Nagisa Arakaki's next Ichi-gun start will likely come against the Orix Buffaloes on April 19 (ten days of rest).  The Harks are taking it easy with Arakaki because of his past right shoulder problems.

Brad Penny will be returning to Japan within the next few days.  When he returns, he will be required to stay at Ni-gun until he is ready to pitch at the Ichi-gun level.  And while they did allow him some free reign to do his own thing at first, they plan to be a little more strict with him now because he did not pitch well under those circumstances.

"Penny will be promoted once he shows us he can throw at Ni-gun. ... We also want him to work on his slide step and his pick-offs", said pitching coach Manabu Saito.

Masahiko Morifuku will be appearing on Beagle Crew's next CD single, Try Again.  Morifuku has been using the song, Try Again, since August 2010.

Nippon Ham Fighters

On Monday, the Fighters recorded their 600th franchise victory since moving to Hokkaido.

Seibu Lions

Ryoma Nogami and Shota Takekuma are a candidates to take over Hideaki Wakui's spot in the starting rotation.

The Lions dropped their sixth straight game, since the start of the season, at Seibu Dome on Monday.  That is the worst start, at home, in franchise history.  The previous high of five was last set in 1979.  And the last time they started the season with just two victories in ten games: 1998.

Orix Buffaloes

Kazuki Kondo will likely take Chihiro Kaneko's spot in the starting rotation.

The Buffaloes' starting rotation over the next few days: Shinya Nakayama (18th), Yuki Nishi (19th), Kondo (20th), Evan MacLane (21st), and Hiroshi Kisanuki (22nd).

Kei Igawa is currently slated to get two Ni-gun starts: April 18 vs Hiroshima (three innings) and April 24 vs Softbank (five innings).  If everything goes well, he could start an Ichi-gun game against Seibu on April 30 (at Kyocera Dome).

Chiba Lotte Marines

Seth Greisinger compared teammate Takahiro Fujioka with Milwaukee Brewer Randy Wolf.
