The steering committee for the 94th Summer Koshien held their first meeting today in Osaka and confirmed that a total forty-nine high school will be competing in the fifteen day tournament that begins on August 8.

They also decided:

• first and second round games will begin at 8:00am
• quarterfinals and semifinals games will begin at 9:00am
• the finals game at 10:30am
• they will again collect donations for relief efforts in northern Japan

Brackets will be determined on August 5.
