Softbank Hawks

Yuichi Honda complained of neck pain and closed out pre-game practices early.  He had his neck taped for the game but left after the first play in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Honda's streak of playing in every inning of every game ended at 293 games.

Nippon Ham Fighters

The Fighters announced today that Bobby Keppel will be returning to the US on Sunday for a second opinion on his right shoulder.  Keppel was taken off the active roster on April 11 with tightness in his right shoulder.  He did manage to start a Ni-gun game against Lotte on April 24, but gave up two runs over two innings.

Atsunori Inaba's parents were in the stands at Kleenex Stadium today.  They watched the Lotte game at Tokyo Dome on Thursday before returning to their homes in Aichi.  The two took the Shinkansen to Sendai this morning.

Seibu Lions

The Lions are not only planning to retire Kazuhisa Inao's number twenty-four, but they are also planning to play a game some time during the summer where all their players wear the number twenty-four.

Orix Buffaloes

Chihiro Kaneko started a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima today and gave up two runs on six hits over five innings of work.
