Softbank, Nippon Ham, Orix, Rakuten, Lotte: April 27, 2012

Softbank Hawks

According to Sponichi, it costs about 200,000 yen each time they open the roof at Yahoo Dome.  The team went through a stretch where they did not open the dome because of problems with shadows, noise, and the fact that it takes about twenty minutes to close the roof (in case of sudden rain).

Nippon Ham Fighters

Atsunori Inaba is one hit away from 2,000 and one homer away from 250.

Inaba's parents were at Thursday's game.

Orix Buffaloes

Shohei Tsukahara has been used as a reliever but may get a chance to start a game during the team's nine-game stretch that begins on Saturday.

Hayato Terahara could be called up during the team's nine-game stretch that begins on Saturday.  For now, he will likely pitch in a Ni-gun three game series against the Hanshin Tigers that begins on May 1.

Chihiro Kaneko (lower back) is scheduled to pitch in a Ni-gun rehab game against Hiroshima on Saturday.

Rakuten Eagles

Masahiro Tanaka (lower back) worked out at the Ni-gun facilities in Izumi, Sendai on Friday.  He did some walking and played a light game of catch for about twenty minutes.  He is still not able to run.

Sports Hochi notes that Tanaka will undergo acuscope therapy.  The team may also turn to Tecar therapy.  This is on top of the massage treatment he is also undergoing.

Senichi Hoshino plans to give Manabu Mima another chance to pitch.

Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi was sent down to Ni-gun on Thursday for a tune-up.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yuki Karakawa tossed a bullpen session at QVC Marine on Friday in preparation for his next start on April 29 (vs Softbank).
