Softbank Hawks

Nineteen-year-old Kodai Senga will most likely make his Ichi-gun debut start against the Chiba Lotte Marines on April 30 (at QVC Marine).

Nippon Ham Fighters

Yuki Saito could get to start one of the two games against the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium during Inter-league play next month (either May 16 or 17).

Seibu Lions

Shogo Akiyama (left hamstring) will most likely be called up from Ni-gun today.

Yasuyuki Kataoka (left shoulder) could return to the active roster as early as May 1 (vs Rakuten at Seibu Dome).

Hideaki Wakui will get to pitch in Ni-gun games beginning in May.

The Lions are planning to retire Kazuhisa Inao's number 24 as part of their Lions Classic event in July.  This will be the first number the Lions retire in franchise history.

Orix Buffaloes

Shohei Tsukahara will likely get his first Ichi-gun start on April 30 (vs Seibu at Kyocera Dome).

Takahiro Okada (left hamstring) could be used as a bat off the bench or a DH, but that will depend on how well he can run.

Rookie Takuya Shimada will likely take over Shinji Takahashi's spot on the active roster.  Ryoichi Adachi was also an option, but they decided against it because he is currently not at 100% -- he injured his right heal during a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima on April 18.

Shimada's Ni-gun numbers: 19-for-73, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 6 walks, 15 strikeouts, .260/.313/.411

Rakuten Eagles

According to Sanspo, Masahiro Tanaka (lower back) might be able to return in time for the start of Inter-league play (May 16).  He could also end up missing more time.

The Eagles announced on Friday that fans with Miyagi, Iwate, Fukushima, Akita, Aoyama, or Yamagata as family names will get free admission to home Inter-league games as part of their Gambaro Tohoku Series event.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Takahiro Fujioka's next start will likely be against the Softbank Hawks at QVC Marine on April 30.  If he records a victory, he will become the first rookie starter in franchise history to win three games before the end of April since Katsumi Nakanishi in 1956 (two victories in March and one victory in April).
