Hideki Matsui (TBR) took forty-one swing during batting practice on Friday and hit none over the fence.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (BOS) threw forty pitches in the bullpen on Friday.  He also told reporters that he got in touch with Tsuyoshi Wada (BAL) about TJ surgery.

Sponichi mentions the following quote from Ron Washington as an explanation for why Yu Darvish (TEX) has done well so far this year: "[Darvish], his interpreter, and I got together and did some talking [back in February].  I told him what I was expecting from him and he told me what he wanted to accomplish.  I think that allowed everyone to start things off without any issues."

Darvish lightly tossed thirty pitches in the bullpen on Friday (he also had someone standing in the batter's box).
