Sponichi mentions the following quote from Ron Washington as an explanation for why Yu Darvish (TEX) has done well so far this year: "[Darvish], his interpreter, and I got together and did some talking [back in February]. I told him what I was expecting from him and he told me what he wanted to accomplish. I think that allowed everyone to start things off without any issues."
Darvish lightly tossed thirty pitches in the bullpen on Friday (he also had someone standing in the batter's box).
