The Fighters announced that will be celebrating Atsunori Inaba's 2,000 career hit before their game against the Yokohama Bay Stars on May 23. Amongst the scheduled events: meikyukai jacket presentation ceremony; a road to 2,000 hits video montage; and a fan-signed banner ceremony.
Photos and other 2,000 hit memorabilia (like the game ball and bat) will also be on display in the third floor concourse area.
The Buffaloes announced details for their Legend of Bs 2012 Hankyu Braves Series today (May 25-26 vs Hiroshima; June 2-3 vs Yomiuri). Hisashi Yamada (May 25), Yukihiko Yamaoki (May 26), Boomer Wells (June 2), and Koji Minoda (June 3) have been selected to take part in pre-game talk sessions and to throw out ceremonial first pitches. Kei Igawa threw fifty-two pitches off the mound at Hotto Motto Kobe during workouts today. Igawa could make his first Ichi-gun start as early as Wednesday (vs Softbank at Hotto Motto).

According to Sponichi, Ikuhiro Kiyota had the green light when he swung at a 3-0 pitch in the 2nd inning of Sunday's game against the Seibu Lions and hit it over the fence for a three-run homer.
Said batting coach Kiyoyuki Nagashima, "[Kiyota] has some pop so there is no way we ask him to hold back there. The easiest pitch to hit is the one you know will be a strike."
