Notes
The season series ended in a 2-2 tie.
Yomiuri: Sawamura lost his fourth straight start and dropped to 4-7 in twelve starts. ... The Giants' two game winning streak came to an end.
Nippon Ham: Yoshikawa got the win and is 7-2 in eleven starts. He is also 5-0 in six starts since his last loss on April 30 (vs Rakuten). ... The Fighters stopped a two game losing streak. They are also guaranteed a better than .500 finish during Inter-league play.
Who would have guessed that Yoshikawa had a shot to have a better year than any of Darvish’s seasons !
I guess the caveat to that is that Darvish only got to pitch with the new ball one season – look how much better he is than the league in some of his years. But Yoshikawa is having a hell of a season!
