Kyuji Fujikawa (bone contusion on right thighbone/femur) was taken off the active roster today. He also started a rehab program at the Ni-gun facilities -- some jogging, stretching, strength training. Fujikawa is scheduled to begin playing catch on Thursday. There is no timetable on when he will be able to toss a bullpen session.
Said Fujikawa, "I want to wait until I am 100%. I also think the Ichi-gun players [will be ok without me]."

Sanspo is also carrying an interview with Fujikawa regarding the injury (conducted on Tuesday).
Is there a lot of pain?
Well, they did check me out. I thought I could play through it, but I did not pitch well against Lotte the other day, so there is that. I am frustrated that they tied it. It would have been better if I knew about [the injury] earlier. I cannot move around a lot. My range of motion is limited.
Did you feel pain while pitching?
It was not as if I could not pitch. There are a lot of motions. I did not try throwing a pick-off. It was just one game and I wanted to help the team get back to .500.
Are you going to try and return in ten days?
If I can, sure. But I do not think that will be possible. I need to be 100% when I return because of the type of situations I pitch in. I do not want to lose a game we should have won. I do not want to make any excuses. [I will not return until] I can show that I am good to go.
Is this a new type of injury for you?
It happened with just one pitch. And it was my back leg. You can injury your shoulder or elbow if you cannot use your back leg properly. The doctor and trainer said I needed to avoid those kinds of situations. I feel bad that I have to step away like this. Not just to my teammates, but also to the fans that come out to the stadium. I want to return in as good a shape as possible. I want to do a good job.
