Chunichi Dragons

Yudai Kawai started Wednesday's Ni-gun game against Hiroshima and tossed two shutout innings.  Final line: 2 IP, 7 BF, 20 NP, 1 H, 0 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

The Dragons will likely turn to Kazuki Yoshimi, Yudai, and Shinji Iwata during the three game series they play against Hanshin that begins on June 26.  Source: Nikkan Sports 6/21/2012

Morimichi Takagi told reporters on Wednesday that he was thinking about giving Shuhei Takahashi a look in right.

Takahashi started Wednesday's Ni-gun game against Hiroshima in right and went 1-for-4 without any major problems in the field (four chances; two on the ground, two in the air).  He borrowed Daiki Yoshikawa's high school outfielder's glove.

The Dragons announced today that August 8 will be Morimichi Day at Nagoya Dome.  Jet balloons will also be handed out and launched after the top of the 7th inning.

Yomiuri Giants

Dicky Gonazalez threw forty-five pitches in the bullpen on Wednesday.  He is scheduled to start a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on Friday and will likely get an Ichi-gun start against Hiroshima on June 27 (as the fifth pitcher in the starting rotation).

That means the starting five will likely be: Tetsuya Utsumi, Sawamura, Toshiya Sugiuchi, Houlton, and Gonzalez.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Koji Onuma has been trying to work his way back from a right shoulder injury.  Sports Hochi reports that Onuma may end up leaving the team within the next few days because his rehab has not been going well.
