The Chicago White Sox DFA'ed Kosuke Fukudome on June 22. From MLB.com's Paul Casella:
In an unrelated roster move, the White Sox designated outfielder Kosuke Fukudome for assignment. Fukudome, who had been on a rehab assignment in Charlotte since injuring his back on June 3, was hitting .171 (7-for-41) in 24 games this season.
Sponichi is carrying the following quote from Fukudome: "It does nothing to complain about getting DFA'ed now. I will begin thinking about what comes next. I will decide after talking it over with my family and agent."
A separate Sponichi article includes the following quote: "As many games as I played in the minors recently, I probably will not see as much playing time if I make it back to the Majors."
