Hisayoshi Chono likes to swing the bat with his pinky on the bat knob.  Tatsunori Hara recently advised Chono to switch over to a bat with a thinner knob because he felt it might help his swing.

Chono has four different kinds of bats and Hara selected a bat with a thin knob, similar to the one Shuichi Murata uses.
