Chunichi Dragons

Morimichi Takagi had a one-on-one talk with pitching coach Hiroshi Gondo on Monday, most likely regarding the pitching staff moving forward and / or the starting rotation during the Yomiuri series.  Source: Sports Hochi 7/3/2012, Sponichi 7/3/2012

According to Nikkan Sports, Takagi may have suggested they try calling up starters like Masahiro Yamamoto and Kenshin Kawakami or moving Enyelbert Soto and Daisuke Yamai out of the bullpen and into the rotation.  In the end, it seems no changes will be made to the starting rotation at this point in time.

Yakult Swallows

Team president / acting owner Tsuyoshi Kinugasa told reporters that he would like Junji Ogawa to continue managing the team into the 2013 season.  Nothing has been decided as of yet, but for the time being, it seems Ogawa has a good shot at returning next season.  Source: Sports Hochi 7/3/2012

Yomiuri Giants

If Ryosuke Miyaguni is feeling ok, he could get an Ichi-gun start against the Hanshin Tigers on either Saturday or Sunday.  Source: Sponichi 7/3/2012

Miyaguni was scheduled to start today's Ni-gun game against Yokohama, but it was canceled due to rain.

Hanshin Tigers

There is a chance Kyuji Fujikawa might make it back to the active roster in time for the Yomiuri series (July 6-8).  Fujikawa is slated to toss live batting practice at some point before then and if he does well, feels no discomfort, and is confident he is ok, the team could activate him without pitching in any rehab games.  Source: Daily Sports 7/3/2012

The Tigers are in Matsuyama for two games against Hiroshima.  The team is staying in the Dogo hot spring area and Yutaka Wada is hoping his players will take advantage of the healing powers of the water.  Source: Sports Hochi Osaka 7/3/2012

The Tigers are planning to invite eighteen youth baseball teams (up to twenty players per team) to nine home games at Koshien (July 27-29 vs Yokohama, July 31-August 2 vs Yakult, August 31-September 9 vs Hiroshima).  Source: Sports Hochi Osaka 7/3/2012

Yokohama Bay Stars

Dicky Gonzalez (YOM) told reporters he would be happy to set a wager with Daisuke Miura that involves tonight's losing pitcher cutting their hair in the same style as the winning pitcher.  When reporters told Miura about the bet, he jokingly replied, "I am not going to change my hairstyle, but you better get a regent (pompadour) haircut if you lose.  Might be kind of unfair, but oh well."  Source: Daily Sports 7/3/2012

For the Dragons, Soto should replace Ogasawara. Otherwise keep it the same, unless Kawakami is ready to go, I haven’t heard any updates on his injury status lately.
