Yomiuri Giants

Michihiro Ogasawara left Wednesday's Ni-gun game against Yokohama with tightness in his left hamstring (he was replaced on defense in the 3rd inning).  Ogasawara was taken off the active roster with a left hamstring strain on May 3.  He returned to the active roster on June 16, but struggled and was sent back down to Ni-gun on June 27 to work through his issues.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/5/2012

Hanshin Tigers

Kyuji Fujikawa faced six batters and threw twenty-nine pitches during live batting practice on Wednesday.  He allowed two could-be hits (including one that went over the fence) and two strikeouts.  Fujikawa could rejoin the Ichi-gun players for workouts today.

Tomoyuki Kubota was taken off the active roster in a possible move to make room for Fujikawa.

Kenji Jojima took about thirty-swings during soft-toss batting practice on Wednesday.  He also used started using a bat that weight up 900 grams (up from the previous rehab training bats of about 400 to 800 grams).  Source: Sponichi 7/5/2012


Akihito Fujii was taken off the active roster today after missing two games with a contusion on his right chest.  Fujii suffered the injury during a close play at home plate on July 1.  Taichi Okazaki could take Fujii's spot on the active roster.  Source: Sanspo 7/5/2012

Hiroshima Carp

The Carp plan to check Brad Eldred out during a round of live batting practice with the Ichi-gun club today.  Depending on how he does, he could join the active roster in time for the Yakult series that begins on Friday.

Eldred was supposed to see some playing time at Ni-gun, but rain washed those games out.
