Notes
Softbank: Akashi recorded his eighth modasho of the year; Uchikawa his fifth. ... Pena was removed from the game and taken to the hospital after he was hit by a pitch near his right hand in the 5th inning.

These 2 faced each other just a couple of weeks ago. That game turned out to be a pitching duel as it usually is between these two. Saito is very mediocre. That said, the Hawks can’t hit for shit lately, so I expect this game to go down to the wire? Perhaps we’ll be surprised by an unlikely outcome, who knows.
Saito has been extremely disappointing. Granted, it’s only his 2nd season and he might be suffering from that sophomore season slump. Just goes to show, sometimes the hype isn’t worth it on a guy with no professional experience…
He wasn’t very good last year either, but you wouldn’t know it from the papers and the TV announcers.
