The Tigers have ten players that are listed as catchers in their organization.  Five are banged up and working their way back from injuries: Akihito FujiiKenji Jojima, Fumihito Haraguchi, Takashi Shimizu, and Ikusei Seiya Hirokami.  Three are currently on the active roster: Shinji Komiyama, Ryota Imanari, and Taichi Okazaki.  The Tigers were trying to convert Masahiro Nakatani, one of two catchers at Ni-gun, into an outfielder, but have since had to modify their plans a bit by having him prepare himself as a back-up catcher.  Source: Sanspo 7/6/2012

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kiyoshi Nakahata could have replaced Kisho Kagami with a pinch-hitter with the bases loaded and two out in the 4th inning on Thursday, but decided against it and kept him in the game until he finished out the 5th inning because they want to do what they can to help him grow as a pitcher.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/6/2012
