The NPB held an executive committee meeting in Tokyo today. The Yomiuri Giants and Yokohama Bay Stars provided reports of their run-ins with the media concerning an incident involving Tatsunori Hara and a 100M yen pay-off -- Yomiuri stated that, as they understood it, they did not pay money into a criminal organization and Yokohama added that there was no truth to Kiyoshi Nakahata providing former gangsters with Hara's contact information.
The group also confirmed that a final decision on Ryozo Kato's third term as NPB commissioner will be made during the next owners meeting on July 12.
