Notes
As part of Boat Race Special Day at Sapporo Dome, talento Akina Minami threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Lotte: Ono has not allowed a run over his last nineteen innings of work against the Fighters. ... The Marines last recorded a 0-0 tie on June 2, 2009 (vs Yomiuri). ... Okada, running from second on a hit to left by Kakunaka, was thrown out at home by Nakata for the final out of the 11th inning.
Nippon Ham: This is the Fighters first 0-0 tie since September 25, 2009 (vs Softbank). ... The offense had a chance to score with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 11th, but Inaba flied out to second and Yoh lined out to second.

I am shocked, shocked that Nakata made an important defensive play. At least 3rd base coach Saitoh actually sent a runner for once, his reluctance to run has cost us more than one game this year. Better to force the issue and make the other team make a play than stop the runner at third every time…
