Softbank Hawks

Terry Doyle joined the Ichi-gun team for workouts on Friday for the first time since his arrival in Japan.  He could get his first Ichi-gun start on July 16 against the Orix Buffaloes (Yahoo Dome).  Source: Sanspo 7/14/2012

Nippon Ham Fighters

Atsunori Inaba was left out of the starting line-up today after he was hit by a pitch on his right hand on Friday and diagnosed with a contusion.  The Fighters will take it easy with Inaba over the next two or three days.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/14/2012


Kensuke Kondo made the starting line-up at catcher on Friday night for the first time in his Ichi-gun career.  Kondo is the first player out of high school in franchise history to make the starting line-up in his first year since Hachiro Yamamoto in 1956.  Source: Sports Hochi 7/14/2012

Orix Buffaloes

Dae-Ho Lee tweaked his right ankle on Tuesday and ended up as the starting DH the following day.  Thursday's game was rained out.  Friday's game was also rained out, but Lee had a chance to take fielding practice at first and said to reporters, "[The ankle is] fine, no problem.  I was supposed to play defense in today's game."  Source: Sports Hochi Osaka 7/14/2012

Rakuten Eagles

Senichi Hoshino is already thinking about what he can do to help Masahiro Tanaka with his conditioning once the season ends.  One thing he plans on doing is letting Tanaka go to the Akita hot springs immediately after the season.  Source: Sanspo 7/14/2012

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yuki Karakawa was taken off the active roster today because his right elbow was not improving as quickly as the team had hoped.  There is now also a chance he may have to withdraw from the All-Star Series.  If he does, he will not be able to return to the active roster until after the first ten games of the second half are played.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/14/2012
