Chunichi: Iwase took the loss in relief and is 0-3 in thirty-eight games. This is his second loss in three appearances. ... The Dragons lost their second straight. They were also handed their first walk-off loss of the season.

Maken’s errant decision to throw the ball to 2nd almost caused him the game. I have no idea why he did that with 1 out. You’re an ace, get the guy out at first and boom it’s down to the last out. Unless you have no trust in your stuff, you just don’t do that. I think he knew what he did was stupid right after the play.
That said, Iwase, Iwase, Iwase. Not much to say really. The Dragons couldn’t be happier that the all-star break is here. Good thing the Swallows are struggling of late, otherwise the second place would have been overtaken.
