Chunichi Dragons

The Dragons added Maximo Nelson to the active roster today (late start due to right shoulder pain).  Pitching coach Hiroshi Gondo told reporters that they will start Nelson out in the bullpen.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/28/2012

Yakult Swallows

Shinya Miyamoto left today's game on defense in the bottom of the 5th with discomfort in his right chest -- he first felt something after he grounded out to second during his at bat in the 4th.

Miyamoto was later evaluated at a hospital and his results came back negative.  The team will wait to see how he is feeling tomorrow before deciding on his status.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers dropped their game against Yokohama tonight and are now in the middle of their worst losing streak (0-7-1) since they lost eight in a row in 2007 (September 19-27, 0-8-0).  Source: Daily Sports 7/28/2012

Hideki Kishimoto was taken off the active roster today with back pain.  Kishimoto tweaked his back during pre-game practice and was diagnosed with a muscle strain in the right portion of his back.  Source: Sponichi 7/28/2012

Akihiro Higashide played in his first Ni-gun rehab game on Friday: practice game against Hanshin, starting DH, batted second, went 0-for-2.  Higashide suffered a fracture in his right middle finger while playing defense in a game against Orix on June 10.  Source: Nikkan Sports 7/28/2012

Yokohama Bay Stars

Yoshitomo Tsutsugo took an HBP off his left wrist during Friday's game against the Hanshin Tigers.  He was examined at a hospital today and diagnosed with a contusion on his left wrist.

Tsutsugo missed today's game because he was not able to swing the bat.  Kiyoshi Nakahata told reporters that the team will wait to make their decision on his status until they return to Yokohama on Monday.
