Softbank Hawks sign twenty-six-year-old Brandon Allen

The Hawks announced today that they signed twenty-six-year-old Brandon Allen to a deal worth an estimated 24M yen. The team also holds an option for the 2013 season.
Allen has been assigned the number forty-two (Alex Cabrera's old number) and is expected to arrive in Japan on August 2.

UPDATE @ 9:06pm - Sanspo notes that the contract is worth an estimated US$300,000.
So, this means things did not go well with Jeff Clement.
Looking at this guy’s SO, there is not much hope that he would bring something better for the Hawks.
