Yomiuri Giants
Shinnosuke Abe was left out of the starting line-up today because he fouled a ball off his left leg (near the ankle) on Saturday -- he did not participate in pre-game practices and instead had his leg iced. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/29/2012, Sponichi 7/29/2012

Shun Tono started a Ni-gun game against Lotte on July 14 and faced only eight batters before getting yanked from the game (1.1 IP, 8 BF, 24 NP, 1 H, 0 SO, 3 BB, 0 R, 0 ER). He has not pitched since then and has been on a different workout schedule. He told reporters after practices today that he is ok and is slated to toss a bullpen session some time this coming week. Hanshin Tigers

Hiroshima Carp
Takeru Imamura extended his scoreless appearance streak to twenty-three games. That tied the franchise high set by Tomohiro Umetsu (2008) and Ryuji Yokoyama (2010). Source: Nikkan Sports 7/29/2012
Yokohama Bay Stars
Yoshitomo Tsutsugo was only supposed to take fielding practice during pre-game workouts today, but also ended up taking some batting practice because his left wrist was feeling ok (he took an HBP off of it on Friday). While the Bay Stars were thinking about taking Tsutsugo off the active roster, it seems they may now wait things out a bit longer to see how things turn out. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/29/2012
