Notes
Yakult: The Swallows dropped their second straight game. They finished July 6-10-3. ... Ishikawa took the loss and is 6-8 in eighteen starts. He is also 0-2 in four starts since his last victory on July 4 (vs Chunichi). He has dropped all three starts against the Tigers this year. ... Milledge extended his hitting streak to fourteen games. ... J. Matsui committed a fielding error in the 4th that allowed the Tigers to get on the board with an unearned run. He also had trouble on defense in the 5th -- he misplayed Kanemoto's hit into a triple; and with runners on first and second and two out, he lost his footing on a hit by Brazell that may or may not have helped a run score.
Hanshin: The Tigers won their second in a row. 5-14-1 ... Tsuru got the win in relief and is 1-0 in twenty-three games. This was his first victory since July 3, 2010 (vs Yomiuri). ... Toritani picked up his sixth modasho of the year. ... Kanemoto recorded his first triple since September 23, 2011 (vs Yomiuri).
