Notes
Rakuten: The Eagles recorded their fourth extra-inning tie of the season. They are also winless over their last ten (0-8-2).
Nippon Ham: This was the Fighters' eighth tie of the year. The last time they recorded eight (or more) ties was in 1986 when they went 57-65-8. This was also their fifth extra-inning tie of the season. ... Hideki Kuriyama argued Fujita's double to lead-off the top of the 8th -- the ball was hit foul but the third base ump claimed it nicked Koyano's glove before it went over the line. Fujita later came around to score.
