There was a minor mix-up with the relievers during the game on Tuesday night: Morimichi Takagi made the call for Shinji Tajima before the start of the 6th, but Yuta Muto was on the mound tossing warm-ups because pitching coach Hiroshi Gondo had him warming up.
Said Takagi, "I looked at the bullpen monitor and Muto looked like Tajima. They look the same, no? I even confirmed it was Tajima with [pitching coach] Gondo. It looked like he said yes."
"I thought it was Muto, but I answered yes when the manager asked if it was Tajima. It was my fault," explained pitching coach Gondo.
To fix the mix-up, Muto was ultimately replaced by Tajima. Fortunately for the Dragons, he was somewhat ready because he had thrown some warm-ups in the bullpen earlier during the game.
