Since July 4, 2010, the Giants are 24-0-2 when Shinnosuke Abe hits a home run at Tokyo Dome.  Source: Sponichi 8/10/2012

Abe got the start at first on Thursday night because of his right leg.  It was his first start at first since July 9, 2010 (he did last play some first in a game on September 3, 2011).  Source: Sanspo 8/10/2012

He also knocked out a homer on Thursday night, his first in twenty-nine games.  The twenty-eight games without a home run tied the second longest power drought of his career (2006).  The longest home run drought of his career: thirty-five games in 2001.  Source: Nikkan Sports 8/10/2012
