Injury Updates for 8/19/2012: Nakamura (YOK), Koyano (HAM), Nakajima (SEI), Uchikawa (SOF)

Softbank Hawks

Seiichi Uchikawa hurt his right ring finger when he tried to slide back into second during a pick-off play in today's game against Orix in the top of the 9th.  He was later taken to a hospital and diagnosed with a jammed right ring finger.  The Hawks will continue to monitor Uchikawa before deciding what steps to take next.  Source: Nikkan Sports 8/19/2012

Nippon Ham Fighters

Eiichi Koyano tweaked his back while playing defense in the 5th inning of Saturday's game against Lotte; he was later removed from the game on defense, partway through the 6th.  Koyano was not in the starting line-up today, but was available off the bench.  The Fighters are hopeful he will be ready for the Orix series that begins on Tuesday.  Source: Nikkan Sports 8/19/2012

Seibu Lions

Hiroyuki Nakajima was left out of the starting line-up today because of pain in his lower back.  He first complained of back pains during Saturday's game against the Rakuten Eagles and was replaced on defense in the top of the 8th.

Nakajima did not take part in pre-game practice today and was not available to play; he instead received treatment for his back.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Norihiro Nakamura was taken off the active roster on Saturday with pain in his right elbow.  Nakamura reportedly suffered the injury when he turned off his car engine on Thursday.  Source: Sanspo 8/19/2012
