Softbank Hawks

Wily Mo Pena did not play on Saturday because he took an HBP off his left ankle on Friday.  Source: Sports Hochi Osaka 9/2/2012

Pena was back in the line-up today and went 3-for-4: RBI single to center, strikeout swinging, single to right, double to right.

Nippon Ham Fighters

The Fighters will try to spell out a message using colored cards that will be available at every seat at Sapporo Dome on September 19 (vs Softbank).  Source: Nikkan Sports 9/1/2012

Seibu Lions

Hideaki Wakui became just the second player in NPB history to be the opening day starter and record at least twenty saves.  The other: Akio Saito in 1982.  Wakui could also join Senichi Hoshino (1974) and Choji Murata (1975) as the only pitchers to lead the league in saves after being the opening day starter in the same season.  Source: Sponichi 9/2/2012

Takumi Kuriyama (coming back from a left ulna fracture) started his rehab at the Seibu 2 Stadium on Saturday.  Workouts included walking, batting practice with just the right hand.  Source: Daily Sports 9/1/2012

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yoshihisa Naruse has given up thirteen home runs so far this season.  Seven of them came in his five starts in August.
