Softbank Hawks

Kazuyuki Hoashi threw forty-five pitches in the bullpen on Wednesday.  He also had someone stand in the batter's box partway through the session.

Said Hoahi, "I felt good throwing the ball.  Right now, I am only thinking about my balance.  What remains is seeing how things feel when batters hit the ball."

Nippon Ham Fighters

Masayoshi Kato had surgery to address the fracture in the distal phalanx of his right ring finger on Wednesday.  Kato suffered the fracture while playing defense in the 6th inning of a Ni-gun against Seibu on Tuesday.  He will likely require about a month and a half for a full recovery.  He will not be hospitalized.  Source: Nikkan Sports 9/5/2012

Rakuten Eagles

Shintaro Masuda was removed from Wednesday's game after he injury his left knee while running the bases in the 2nd inning.  He is scheduled to undergo an evaluation at a hospital.  Source: Nikkan Sports 9/5/2012
