Ginjiro Sumitani injured his left foot when he blocked the plate on a close play at home plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning of Sunday's game against the Rakuten Eagles.  Sumitani remained in the game until the pain forced him out in the bottom of the 7th.  The team trainer later told reporters the catcher likely suffered a contusion.

Incidentally, Kazuo Matsui was the runner and was called out for the final out of the inning.
