Shunta Goto originally thought he had a contusion on his right index finger after he was hit by a pitch during a Ni-gun game against Hanshin on August 16.  The media learned on Tuesday that Goto found out it was actually a fracture when he had it examined at a hospital because the pain was not going away.

Goto has already resumed batting practice and could beginning throwing the ball around if his evaluation on Friday goes well.
