Shinya Miyamoto laid down his 399th sac hit on Saturday and is now just one away from becoming the third player in NPB history to reach the 400 milestone.  Source: Sanspo 9/16/2012

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers recorded their fourth shutout victory against the Yomiuri Giants this season on Saturday.  The last time they collected four shutout victories against the Giants was in 2003.  It was also their first shutout victory against the Giants at Tokyo Dome since July 19, 2009.  Atsushi Nomi and Kyuji Fujikawa were responsible for both shutout victories.  Source: Sponichi 9/16/2012

Said GM Katsuhiro Nakamura, "We came up with an outline.  This is stuff that is usually released after the season.  We still have the Phoenix League and I think it would be best to wait until after the season ends.  We just want everyone to do their best during the remaining games."

Hiroshima Carp

Shota Dobayashi recorded his twenty-eighth error at third base on Saturday.  That tied a franchise record set by Takenori Yamakawa in 1951.  Takeshi Miyazaki set the NPB record of forty-eight errors at third in 1950.  Source: Sponichi 9/16/2012
