The media learned on Friday that Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi is not a part of the Rakuten Eagles' plans for the 2013 season and will mostly like part ways with the forty-four-year-old veteran.
Shimoyanagi did make the starting rotation out of spring camp, but was not very effective and was removed from the active roster after four starts. He never got another chance to pitch at the Ichi-gun level after that.
Shimoyanagi is not quite ready to call it quits and is will attempt to find another team to play for next season. He is also willing to head to the US if he receives on offers in Japan.
