Kazuhiro Wada entered today's game against Yokohama Bay Stars with 2,999 total bases.  In the 5th inning, he became the fifty-first player in NPB history to reach the 3,000 total base milestone with a three-run homer to left.  Source: Nikkan Sports 9/30/2012

The Tigers are planning to send some of their players to both the Australian Winter League (AWL) and the Taiwan Winter League (TWL).  It also appears as though the AWL is looking for more pitchers while the TWL is looking for more hitters.  To that end, the Tigers may send players like Akira Iwamoto and Ikusei Hiroya Shimamoto to the AWL and Hayata Ito, Masahiro Nakatani, and Yusuke Kuroda to the TWL.  Source: Daily Sports 9/30/2012
