Softbank won the season series, 13-9-2.
Orix: The Buffaloes won their fifth in a row. They also recorded their twelfth shutout victory of the year (second in as many games). Orix finished the season 57-77-10... Nishi got the win and is 8-3 in nineteen starts. He became the seventy-sixth player in NPB history to toss a no-hitter (and third this season).
Softbank: The Hawks dropped their third game in a row. They were handed their seventeenth shutout loss of the season. Softbank finished the year 67-65-12... Yamada lost his second start in a row and dropped to 8-10 in twenty-four starts. ... Uchikawa became just the third right-handed Japanese player in NPB history to record a .300 or better batting average over five consecutive seasons. ... A throwing E7 by Akashi in the top 6th led to an unearned run. ... This was Kokubo's last regular season game. He was presented with flowers at the end of the game and tossed into the air nine times.
