Just imagine how great of a pitching duel we could’ve had if Yoshimi and Sugiuchi were both healthy… Damn…
Still gonna be a great game. Too bad I will be missing the early part of it :( Will be checking it with my phoneeee.
It’ll still be great!
I snagged some tickets from Pia about 30 seconds after Ishii’s hit last night. Gotta be there for this drama.
I agree with you both. It has to be a great game. I expect a pitching duel.
I am expecting the Giants to unleash the offense tonight. I am also expecting that neither pitcher listed there will actually start the game. Well anyway lets see what happens!
Ill be there too but as a Chunichi fan Im not that confindent… With the last two games we could have won, Im afraid we missed our chance. But what a feeling that would be to get that seventh game…
Anyway, without the top 3 starters (Yoshimi, Soto and Nakata) its great to still be there.
Go Dragons, I wanna go to Sapporo Dome!
What is the twitter link for live updates tonight. I’m in Australia and there is no coverage of the npb. Also what sites will have live commentary of the game, I’m at work so can’t watch the game live due to download restrictions but would love live updates. Ta
I don’t think there are any direct links to specific Twitter updates on the NPB. I think Steve is at the game tonight and might make some tweets during the game – https://twitter.com/lovelovemarines. (Hope you don’t mind me posting your account Steve.)
I may try to post some updates here as well.
Ta gen, have only just gotten into the npb and am rooting for the giants to win. It’s a shame there isn’t a dedicated site with updates much like the MLB
Gen, no worries about posting my twitter. I want more and more conversation on NPB, even if the &%$& Giants win!
There are sites, they’re just in Japanese though. But, now that you mention it, you can still follow the score at these links:

http://live.baseball.yahoo.co.jp/npb/game/2012102201/score
Awesome gen, that second site is exactly what I was after. Knowing pitch counts, walks, hits and errors etc. Who knows I might even pick up some Japanese lingo. Great help
I’m sure you already have the link for the English version of the NPB site, but if not, here are direct links to the roster for the Giants and Dragons.
You can look up the uniform numbers and figure out which players are hitting/pitching.

D. J. Houlton struck out Kazuhiro Wada with two men on at the bottom of the first to keep it 0-0. Junki Ito starts for the Dragons.
Struck out both Blanco and Wada.
The Dragons have got to start converting some of those opportunities.
Giants had exploded at the bottom of the second with consecutive singles by Takahashi, Murata, Furuki and Terauchi (2RBI); then, a sacrifice bunt for Houlton and Chono singled in another run. Giants 3, Dragons 0. Muto relieved Ito.
Houlton got Blanco in a fly out to second baseman after Ibata had singled to retire the side at the top of the third.
Koji Mise retired Houlton at the bottom of the third to leave the bases loaded. Still it is 3-0.
I Saw The Offspring the other night in Yokohama, excellent show……….
Houlton hasn’t allowed any score from the Dragons in five innings, so he had done his job tonight since the Giants have Fukuda, Yamaguchi, Mathieson and Nishimura to pitch the rest of the game.
Suichi Murata had hit a homerun off Yamai to give the Giants a 4-0 lead at the bottom of the fifth.
Hara brings Sawamura in to pitch the sixth inning. Blanco hit a one-out double.
Going to see Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band in February…….
Nishimura in to close out the 9th.
BTW I put a crappy quality video of the last out from my keitai on my YouTube:

I left the game 4-1 after seven and a half innings, so thank for sharing this great moment. I was at Japan when Matsui played his last Nihon Series.
