Yoshinori Tateyama became a free agent on Tuesday. From the Dallas Morning News' Gerry Fraley:
Right-handers Scott Feldman and Yoshi Tateyama joined the free-agent market on Tuesday when the Texas Rangers failed to pick up their options for next season.
... The size of Tateyama's buyout could not be determined. He earned $1 million this season. Tateyama, who will be 37 when next season begins, was 1-0 with a 9.00 ERA in 17 innings with the Rangers. He spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Round Rock.
Kyuji Fujikawa arrived in Los Angeles on Monday. He will most likely stay in the US for more than two weeks in order to discuss options with his agents Arn Tellem and Don Nomura. He will also probably have a chance to check out team locations and facilities.
Before leaving for the US, Fujikawa spent about a week working out in Okinawa with his personal trainer.
