GM Brian Cashman on Ichiro Suzuki talks, from the NY Daily News' Anthony McCarron:

Cashman said Saturday that Ichiro's agent, Tony Attanasio, has known all winter that the Yanks would deal with their pitching holes first before they would start intense negotiations on position players.

"He was informed of all that," Cashman said. "Now that our pitching has been settled, which was our priority on the front end, we'll move from the defense to the offense and engage all the players we have interest in and have interest in us.

... Cashman would not comment specifically on Ichiro and his potential interest, but he's optimistic about what the Yankees could get done in Nashville even if Ichiro is talking to other teams.
