Shinko Gakuen High School manager was beating players, accepting money from parents

The media learned on Monday that Shinko Gakuen High School manager was given an indefinite coaching suspension that began November 27 for slapping a number of players on the baseball team. He also reportedly accepted money or gift certificates (from 30,000 to 50,000 yen) from five sets of caretakers/parents.
According to the high school, between last year and May 2012, the manager of the baseball team slapped a number of players in the face after making mistakes during practices. He also reportedly hit a coach and a second year student in June. With regards to the money he received from caretakers/parents, he said he used a portion of it to purchase baseball equipment for graduating students that were planning to continue playing baseball.
The incidents were uncovered when a number of caretaker/parents stepped forward with concerns.
